SAM & RYAN’S WEDDING – THE WILD BOAR, WINDEMERE

JUNE 25, 2017

This venue is stunning. I know I’ve described it before in a previous blog but it’s worth yapping on about it again. The place is set in amazing Lake District scenery and is not only a wedding venue but a smoke house where they smoke all types of delish foods.

Inside, you are greeted with a quaint old bar area as you walk in with a slate floor that over the years has had so many people walk on it that the individual slates have sort of forged into one. Very low ceilings in keeping with a smaller height of folk from years gone by and on the walls there is the obvious boars head, hence the name, and all sorts of old antique-esk fixtures and fittings. (Side note: the gents urinal is awesome, it’s like some sort of slate waterfall thing, and the cubicles have lots of quirky old magazine cut outs that you can read whilst your ‘spending a penny’! See pics.)

We were working with a fab DJ, also from the Fylde coast, DJ Stu who did an amazing job of getting the party started before our first set. Click here to go to his website, I can highly recommend!

During the second set, Sam, the bride volunteered her singing services for ‘a little respect’ and then stayed on stage for a rendition of Mustang Sally joined by her bridesmaids and quite a few of the other guests. Their final track was Chelsea Dagger! (See vid) The stage got quite full! Oh, and we also had a great version of Don’t look back in anger sung by a guest. Think there’s a pic below of this.

All in all another fantastic summer wedding for the Keytars.

Congrats Sam and Ryan. All the very best for the future. Thanks for having us.
